Eugenie Flochel (1996) is a Paris-based artist with French & Persian roots working across photography and mixed media. She holds a BA in Political Science from The University of Warwick - 2018 and an MFA from the Pratt Institute, NYC - 2020 prior to studying Fashion Photography at the London College of Fashion, UAL - 2023.
Her work is positioned in the field of socially-engaged art and experimental photography as she explores narratives of mental health and self-development. Blending documentary and fine art elements, underpinned by a performative and playful approach, she aims at promoting positive visibility and well-being.
Her interests in mental health and art therapy crystallized as she teaches yoga and meditation as well as she facilitates art workshops with vulnerable people at charities, in particular women survivors of sexual violence and young people with disabilities. As part of her master’s project she KER she conducted at LCF where she explored healing and resilience among female survivors of domestic abuse, she won the Procter & Gamble Better Lives Award in 2022 that entirely funded her project and received funding from the Council of Westminster to further her work with charities since 2023.
Since 2023, Eugenie has pursued the socially-engaged nature of her work and nurtured it through education. She has worked as a Special Educational Needs tutor at an Art College in London and now based in Paris, she teaches visual arts for Montessori and IB education and also works as a prevention educator where she facilitates workshops to Middle & High School students on sexual, emotional and civic responsibility.
